The history of rock music originates in the twentieth century. It was the 1950s of the last century that the first progenitors of today’s rock appeared. A peculiar point of the report in the history of rock was the appearance of the notable “Liverpool four” of the Beatles group, which created a furor throughout the world and contributed to the opening of a completely new era – the era of rock and roll. Many bands of that time began to experiment and discover a completely new sound of music. It was in the 50s that the whole world was swept by a musical epidemic under the symbolic name of Beatlemania.
With the emergence of the nasal guy in the music world, Bob Dylan, once folk driven underground, began to blossom again. B. Dylan’s songs told of oppression and the impending threat of nuclear destruction. All the works of the young artist turned into hymns, and were a kind of response of social tension.

The history of rock is noteworthy for several important dates. The new generation of the 70s demanded their own self-expression, denial of familiar things, rebellious movement. A kind of protest was the punk direction. The first punk rockers appeared in England (1975). The standards for them were – in the manner of the game they were guided by the Ramones group, the behaviors on the stage were copied with Lou Reed. And life priorities were developed by a group called New York dollars. It is noteworthy that the music performed in the punk style was notable for their anger and wild cries of the vocalist.
One of the main achievements in the history of rock, in the 70s, was the formation of the Hard Rock style. Thanks to the emergence of an outstanding guitarist named Jimmy Hendricks, this direction is notable for a virtuoso game. Unlike punk, there is bitterness, and an aversion to the dark sides of the human soul.
The components of hard rock were classical music, rock and roll and black blues at the same time. Hard rock performers touched on the themes of Satanism and Christianity, occult knowledge and the dark side of the human soul. The history of rock music is notable for the following groups – the founders of the style of “Black Sabbath”, “Deep Purple” and “Led Zeppelin”.
The music that came to replace hard rock in the 80s was called post-punk. One of the first groups performing this style was a group called “Public image limited”. For the first time in the life of rock, the direction of post – punk reached the top of the musical Olympus. The legendary band “U-2”, performing their works in the style of post-punk, won the title of the best band of the 80s in America.
At the same time, a new direction of rock, thrash-metal, began to form. It generalized in itself incredible cruelty, melodic performance and virtuoso sound speed of instruments. Thresh metal was distinguished by the fact that in addition to speed, there was a melody, and a sharp change in rhythm made the sound inimitable. America is considered the birthplace of trash. The first bands to perform works of this style are Metallica, Celtic Frost and Slayer. A little later, a new, distinguishable style appeared – grunge. A striking representative is the group “Nirvana”.
